Hate Group Moms for Liberty Now in Arizona, Organizing In East Valley

No matter where we're from or what we look like, we all want our kids to have the freedom to learn and get an education that prepares them for the future. But MAGA Republican extremists like Moms for Liberty in Arizona want to force their extremist views into our schools and determine which books your kids are allowed to read.

Below is a summary of an article from The Hill published in July 2023, "Reasons why Moms for Liberty is an extremist organization."

  1. Featured speakers have included an anti-Muslim activist, a politician who says teaching children about LGBTQ rights is child abuse, and an anti-government lawyer from Florida who says the U.S. federal government has no power in local jurisdictions except by "the permission of the sheriff."

  2. Prominent leaders of Moms for Liberty has close ties to Proud Boys, Three Percenters, QAnon, and white Christian nationalists.

  3. The front cover of a recent Moms for Liberty newsletter quoted Adolf Hitler, "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future."

  4. Leadership of Moms for Liberty have threatened librarians with gun violance, had restraining orders against them, and even been arrested for harassment.

  5. Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio (who was just sentenced to 22 years in prison for sedition) bragged that Moms for Liberty is "the gestapo with vaginas."

  6. Moms for Liberty have called a book about Martin Luther King Jr "anti-American" and "anti-White," and they demanded a ban on a book about Ruby Bridges the six year old who integrated to a school in Louisiana in 1960.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled Moms for Liberty "anti government extremists."

Moms for Liberty is launching three new chapters in Maricopa County. Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction spoke at their kickoff event in Mesa last week but claimed that he didn't know much about the group.

Their goal is to elect more MAGA Republican extremists to our local school boards here in Maricopa County. Unfortunately for them, conservative extremists and so-called culture warriors have been losing school board races across the country, even in very conservative districts.

We have recruited school board candidates for many of our local races here in our local district covering Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, and Southeast Mesa.

We still need one more person to run for QCUSD.

If you've ever thought about running for school board, now is the time. We can provide resources, training, and support. Reach out today, and let us answer your questions.

Conservative "culture warriors" like Moms of Liberty have been losing school board races when challenged with outspoken, reasonable opponents, even in conservative areas. Now is the time to run candidates against them.

If you're not ready to run for school board, please sign up to volunteer to help us elect reasonable school board candidates across the school districts in our local community.
